Do you enjoy going to thrift stores or stopping on your way to work to take a look at the corner store? If not, do you have things you don’t need but you know people will pay for? Mint Market, a newly launched free marketplace, is one of those apps taking a step towards bringing eBay and Amazon business models from the browser to the app. The tagline, in fact, reads, “Like new for them, brand new for you.” On Mint Market, users can sell previously owned items by simply clicking a picture, uploading it, and writing a small description. Your post gets listed on what’s called a main feed page and is free for all users to see.

Since everything works better with a social angle, Mint Market has enabled an easy way to connect to Facebook so you can keep your friends in the loop. We especially like this idea. For one, your friends trust you so they are more likely to buy from you and secondly, you may not even have to ship the items.
Shane Kang, product manager for Mint Market, is excited about the app. He says that even though this is a crowded market area, the opportunities are endless. Besides, the rise in mobile use means the rise in use of apps, and there aren’t any apps that do what Mint Market does with as much simplicity and style.

We like the idea of an app to sell our stuff. Do you see yourself using Mint Market to sell that bicycle you never use anymore or that extra keyboard lying around your room?
