Our Top Sites for Design Inspiration Vol. XXVII

Web design work that caught the eye of Fueled's lead designer Rob Palmer

Every week at Fueled, our London-based lead designer Rob Palmer shares a handful of inspirational websites with our teams in New York and Chicago. This weekly email acts like a virtual water cooler, encouraging us to congregate across time zones and discuss what brands and blogs are doing to push new trends in webdesign.

Aquatilis Expedition

So, you know that 71% of the earth surface is water, but did you know that only 20% of the organisms in the ocean have been identified? This is the site for the Aquatilis Expedition, a compelling project that is currently raising money on Indiegogo. The campaign hopes to raise enough money between April 20 and June 1 to send a team of divers and scientists to research and explore the world's oceans for three years. They'll need all the help they can get from their ambitious goal. Luckily, their website is outstanding. Scroll through and find yourself compelled to join them.

Knormal (we're assuming th K is silent?) is a design and technology agency that builds digital products for brands and individuals. We particularly like the site's grid design and page fades that add flavor to the minimalist style. Be sure to spot (and admire) the little airplane animation!

This summer, Motorola will release the Moto 360, it's first foray into wearable technology. The teaser site for the new smartwatch is fun and well designed. After being prompted to signup and receive updates about the launch, scroll to see the watch and its wearer jump into different scenes and activities. It's is clever and showcases some of the new technology's more intriguing features.

Theres a lot to say about Canada, but there's not much to say about Calgary. We do really like Jay Beagle, the city's skyline looks nice, and we're really digging Flipp, an advertising agency based in Calgary that's churning out some really great stuff. Their work is presented through a clean, laid back, and easy to navigate site. Why get too fancy when your work can speak for itself?

Studio Songes

In honor of all the French speaking interns we have at Fueled this semester, we decided to highlight this French interior design studio... en français.
