Google Maps + Uber = Love

This week, Google announced updates to its Maps app on Android and iOS. The most intriguing feature is definitely the new Uber integration. If you already have the ride-sharing app on your phone, Uber will show up as an option when searching for public-transit directions within Google Maps. We expect big things from this partnership. via Engadget

iPhone 6 Arrival in... August?

Today, Taiwanese media reported that Apple will unveil it's newest iPhone incarnation in August, one month earlier than expected. A 4.7 inch screen version will hit stores in the summer with a 5.5 inch or 5.6 inch model following in September. via Reuters

Farewell, Samsung Designer

Yikes. Samsung has replaced the head of its mobile design team amid criticism of the company's newest Galaxy S smartphone. Analysts have been particularly unimpressed with the Galaxy S5's lack of hardware innovations and features. via Business Insider

Cool App: Acorns

Make that $3.75 bacon, egg, and cheese at your local deli count for something. We discovered the upcoming app Acorns this week. The app, which is currently in beta, automatically rounds up everyday purchases to the nearest dollar and invests the difference into a diversified portfolio.
