Today, Fueled posted an article on Betabeat focusing on the success of an adventurous new startup called Apptopia. When it launches shortly after SXSW, it'll change the app landscape by serving as a marketplace for the sale of individual app's “exclusive rights” – not just code, but App Store-listed apps in their entirety, including existing revenue, users, and App Store statistics. The goal, said founder Jonathan Kay, is to provide an exit strategy for developers, who, after launching their product, are often left with little understanding of how to monetize it.
