Fueled Team Shuffleboard Party
This week at the collective, Fueled celebrated the warm weather with a Mid-Summer party hosted at The Royal Palm's Shuffleboard Club, in Brooklyn.
Since we’ve been working hard on our recent projects, we decided to reward ourselves and celebrate at the annual Fueled Mid-Summer Party! Last week, our team stationed at the Fueled Manhattan headquarters went on a group outing to The Royal Palms Shuffleboard Club in Gowanus, Brooklyn.
The Royal Palms is a really unique spot, located in a 17,000 square foot warehouse that was converted to replicate The Mirror Lake Shuffleboard Club in St. Petersburg, Florida.
This hip spot opened last year, and got some of its initial funding and attention from a Kickstarter campaign. It’s the only full-sized indoor club of its kind in New York City, so we had to check it out.
The club features ten sunken shuffleboard courts, vintage vinyl-strap pool chairs, black and white tented cabanas, and plenty of palm trees. The floridian atmosphere and retro vibes made us feel as if we were retirees atop a cruise ship back in the fifties, making it the perfect place to kick back after work and celebrate the summer time.
We started our adventure in the Deerbrook whiskey room with a cheers and then headed to subway together in a group. After a quick lesson from the staff at the Royal Palms, our team was ready to hit the courts - with mason jar drinks and “tangs” in hand. While we took turns on the court and chatted about our current projects, we also tried our luck at jumbo Jenga, oversized “Connect Four” and Cards Against Humanity. It was an enjoyable and memorable trip, to say the least! The friendly competition on the courts turned out to be a great way to get to know some of our new team members, reconnect with friends, and celebrate all of our hard work and accomplishments together.
