We’re proud to share that The Jewish Chronicle’s new website, which our team designed and built, has been shortlisted in Press Gazette’s Future of Media Awards. TheJC.com is a finalist for “Journalism-based Website of the Year (Specialist/B2B)”, a category celebrating the best specialist news sites of the year.

Josh Kaplan, Head of Digital for the Jewish Chronicle, announces the that it has made the shortlist for Press Gazette's Future of Media Award on LinkedIn.

A Historic Newspaper’s Digital Transformation

Earlier this year, The Jewish Chronicle (JC) completed a sweeping digital rebrand and website relaunch. Fueled partnered with the JC team to transform this 180-year-old publication into a modern, mobile-first news platform, featuring its first online subscription offerings. The new site delivers dramatically faster load times, improved navigation, and a seamless multimedia experience for readers.

The JC’s revamped platform elevates its national reporting on antisemitism, Jewish education, and diaspora affairs, presenting these stories with greater clarity and impact. We also implemented a refreshed visual identity (inspired partly by the Chronicle’s extensive archives) to reinforce the publication’s authority and heritage in a digital format. Engineering achievements included upgraded subscription systems, intelligent search capabilities, and new article templates to support data-driven journalism and specialist reporting.

The JC’s new site added over 4,000 new registered users, included a completely rebuilt newsletter strategy, integrated new subscription paywall features with tiered and freemium options, and opened fresh revenue streams through sponsorships and partnerships. On the editorial side, we added more powerful curation options that better surface trending and impactful content. It’s a future-facing publication that continues to serve a specialist, engaged audience with renewed urgency, credibility, and a steadfast commitment to impactful journalism, all while staying true to the trust it has built over 180 years.

Innovation with Impact

At Fueled, we’re dedicated to building digital experiences that bring innovation to impactful organizations. We congratulate our partners at The Jewish Chronicle on this well-deserved recognition.
