The latest Fueled Collective snack is made out of crickets and has more in common with Fueled than you’d think. Fueled is excited to announce the impending arrival of Jungle Bar, a protein bar that, along with dates, seeds, and chocolate, counts cricket flour as its primary nutrition source. In addition to a love for deliciousness, Fueled and Jungle Bar share something perhaps less obvious- a passion for aesthetics and design, albeit executed in very different ways.

Jungle Bar creator Búi Bjarmar Aðalsteinsson is by trade a designer, something reflected in both the conception and development of Jungle Bar. Creating a well-designed, aesthetically-pleasing product takes on particular importance when dealing with the largely untested market of edible insects. Being design-conscious played a role in everything from Jungle Bar’s recipe to its packaging. A core part of Jungle Bar is the concept of sustainable design- the crickets in Jungle Bar are far more resource-efficient than more common protein sources such as beef or chicken.

Whether the goal is getting featured in the app store or on the store shelf, having a beautiful product goes a long way. Innovation comes in many different forms, and Fueled is proud to be the first company in the United States to stock Jungle Bar. Soon, members of the Collective can look forward to trying a snack unlike any other- the first ever shipments of Jungle Bar are expected to arrive in our NYC headquarters in late July.
