Have you seen all those ads for Shopify? They run them all the time, basically everywhere! Shopify is a web platform, but it also has a lesser-known companion app dubbed Shop. This app is fantastic and super helpful when shopping online using your iPhone.
You can use the app as a starting point for your shopping. It uses AI to propose more stores with products you may be interested in. Since it knows the shops other people buy from, it can use that to predict which ones make sense for you. Similar to a music recommendation engine! You could also search for things, like bespoke bartending tools, and get tons of recommendations. You can then chat with the AI assistant to narrow things down further. I love using the app for gifting purposes.
Secondly, there is a feature called Shop Pay. When you checkout with the Shop app or any website that uses Shopify, you have the option to use Shop Pay. This stores your payment information to make checking out a breeze. It significantly speeds up the process and also keeps your information safe. It also has a 12-month financing option for those who need it. Finally, as an added bonus, you earn 1% back on all your Shop Pay purchases. Stack that with your credit card and you can get a good return on your purchases.
While browsing for new products, you can spend any of your reward cash through the app on any participating store. There are even limited-time promos directly through Shop on different retailers.
You can track your package in the Shop app for purchases from Shopify. It automatically shows up and just in case it doesn’t, you can scan the QR code to import it. It will show you everything from placing the order, to shipping, to delivery. Once you receive it, you can rate it. Shop is also one of the only apps to support order tracking in the Wallet app.
Shop is a very well-designed app that combines an AI assistant, an order-tracking app, and a shopping app into one. Product images are promoted while action buttons are highlighted in Shop. It’s not perfect though, as I’d love to see it track other orders outside of Shop retailers.
