Lanyard wearing geeks descended upon Las Vegas this week for the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. CES is the world's biggest convention for gadgets, electronics and consumer tech. The event began on the 7th and ends today. Cnet has an excellent roundup that can be found here.

Twitter has begun to experiment with ways to boost engagement. Using the account @AchievementBird, users will receive direct messages containing 'achievements' that are earned through tweets. Examples include retweets, mentions and new followers. Twitter hopes these alerts will inspire and encourage users to tweet more. via TechCrunch

Twitter co-founder Biz Stone has released his newest venture, an app called Jelly, a tool that allows users to pose questions via Twitter and Facebook and get answers from followers, in the same vein as Quora. Learn more about the product in the introduction video above. via NYT Bits

A week after a massive data breach compromised the privacy of millions of users, Snapchat finally apologized for the incident and released an app update for both iOS and Android devices. The new fix gives users a chance to opt out of a feature that connects their username to their mobile number. via Digital Trends

Images of an alleged iPhone 6 frame surfaced this week. According to the photos, the screen is expected to be between 4.7 and 5 inches and will be significantly thinner than previous versions, measuring approximately 6 mm. Stay tuned!  via NDTV Gadgets
