the top 5 apps we love this week
5 apps we love: Yevvo, Oyster, BackInTouch, Chipotle Scarecrow, and Konvert.
Every week at Fueled, we share an internal anthology of the week’s greatest new apps. As mobile developers, we’re lucky to hear about and download innovative new apps every day that make our lives easier, entertain us, or keep our eyes and hands busy in awkward situations.
Here’s what’s on our radar.
OYSTER
Attention all book worms! Exciting news: Oyster is like Netflix for books. For $9.95 a month, you have unlimited access to over 100,00 titles. For now, the app and website are accessible by invite only on a first come, first served basis. They just launched their iPhone app- it's beautiful- and an iPad app will arrive later this fall.
YEVVO
Yevoo is perfect for all you wannabe Vine celebrities. In one tap, the app lets you record live video that is pushed straight to your friends. It also alerts you when your friends (or favorite business) starts recording live. Yevvo is still in its early phases, but we think it has the potential to get everyone hooked on social broadcasting.
BACK IN TOUCH
This simple app makes keeping in touch easy by sending colorful reminders to connect with friends. The app suggests people to connect with by keeping track of how often you talk and helps set goals to reach out to specific friends more often.
KONVERT
Never apologize for not knowing Celsius again. This app is the slickest and best looking way to convert miles to kilometers, pounds to grams or angstroms to nanometers.
CHIPOTLE SCARECROW
Chipotle has recently launched a fantastic new marketing campaign. Since splitting with parent company McDonald's, the fast food chain has began to market themselves as a sustainable restaurant, serving only all natural meats and GMO free produce. In this particular campaign, the Chipotle Scarecrow is the central figure. Watch this touching video first and then download the legitimately fun game that follows the Chipotle Scarecrow on his sustainable food quest.
