The Top 5 Apps We Love This Week
Top 5 Apps Fueled has their eyes on: VSCOCam, Duolingo, Handlebars, Kindr, and Levels.
Every week at Fueled, we share an internal anthology of the week’s greatest new apps. As mobile developers, we’re lucky to hear about and download innovative new apps every day that make our lives easier, entertain us, or keep our eyes and hands busy in awkward situations.
Here's what's on our radar.
Kindr
You're great. I love your hair. Your teeth are perfect. I love your iOS 7 mobile app designs. Sometimes, it's hard to give compliments to those you love. That's where Kindr comes in. Invite you friends to the app and effortlessly send compliments their way. The app not only allows you to brighten someone's day, but it also compiles good news from around the world into a newsfeed. The platform also shows you who the 'kindest' of your friends is by awarding points for sending compliments. #xoxo
Level
There was once a time when we imagined ourselves in New York City as adults living the dream. Making out at clubs, kicking ass at our jobs and doing responsible things like flushing the toilet and saving money. Fast forward to adulthood and we're living in Brooklyn with our significant other, kicking ass and flushing the toilet... but not saving much dough. Enter Level, a superbly designed and simple to use app that helps you budget. The app links to your bank account to monitoring what you send your money on and gives you a suggested daily allowance based on your income.
Handlebars
We were first attracted to Handlebars by the company's cute motto: "Riding a Citi Bike is easier with handlebars." Then we saw its sleek app design and cool (and colorful!) way of showing the nearest Citibike station with usable bikes and spaces.
Duolingo
Sprechen Sie Deutsch? But didn't you study German in high school? Prove Frau Müller wrong and pick it back up again with the help of Duolingo. This app has been popular for quite some time, but we're really digging the app's new iOS 7 redesign. The free app provides users with short language lessons to promote daily practice. It starts with basic vocabulary and builds up to grammar basics.
VSCOCam
Nashville and Lo-Fi just not cutting it for you anymore? VSCOCam is where it's at. The majority of the Fueled team has jumped on the VSCO band wagon because it offers gorgeous filters, a streamlined design and many other great add-ons. This app gets prime real estate on our iPhone's home page -- bottom right hand corner, right by our thumb!
