Xiaomi Leads in China

The Chinese smartphone startup Xiaomi was the number one smartphone maker in China in the second quarter, beating both Samsung and Apple. Although Xiaomi isn't making much profit on its smartphones, it's eating away at the Samsung market - the company reported declining profits last quarter. via Business Insider

Is Tinder Worth a Billion?

According to a reliable source, the VC firm Benchmark is close to leading a $50 million to $75 million investment round in Tinder. This round will value Tinder between $750 million to $1 billion. via Valleywag

The New Foursquare

After unveiling its new logo a couple weeks ago, Foursquare finally unleashed its new app this week. The new concept "learns what you like and leads you to places you’ll love." Old school users are reeling on Twitter. Like, what happened to being able to add places to your Lists? A couple teenagers in Brooklyn built up a delicious new app. Push for Pizza does exactly what you think it does. Simply press the pizza shaped icon, select a local pizza place and voila! A cheese pie will be delivered right to your door.
