NFT’s are great, but how do you enjoy art when it’s hidden away in a digital wallet?
Lago had a solution. Their idea was simple: A frame that allows users to showcase their NFTs in their home no matter the medium. Lago Frame had a clear vision for their product. They conducted extensive research and came up with initial designs.
But they needed an agency to help them execute their plans.
The Process
That’s where Fueled came in. We elevated the design and user experience to provide a sleek and polished app that works seamlessly with the frame. Lago’s users can control which NFT’s are displayed on the frame with intuitive gestures and voice commands. The companion app offers the added bonus of connecting to the larger NFT community.
As always, our process began with research and discovery sprints. Though Lago’s team came in with their own research and industry knowledge, we needed to ensure we understood their vision and goals.
Then, we worked together to hone in on a core set of features that would allow us to launch the product on time and on budget — while still meeting Lago’s needs and business goals. Once the core feature set was agreed on, we were ready to begin the development process.
The Frame
The frame is a simple black square designed to hang on the wall of anyone's home. Lago wanted the frame to display any NFT, while staying true to the experience the artist intended.
But NFT’s are not always simple 2D pieces of artwork. Some are three dimensional. Others contain audio or video content that needs to be played. Or they could have a text component. And the list goes on. How could Lago get these varied experiences to play out on a flat screen?
Fueled’s job was to develop software that would allow the frame to deliver a customizable experience, no matter what art was being displayed.
We conceptualized and implemented a suite of different gestures and voice commands that let people pause, play, rotate, and interact with the NFT.
With a wave of the hand, the frame will display the NFT’s metadata. This includes information such as the creator, past owners, and more. The Fueled team went through tons of NFTs and scenarios so that every experience could be viewed through the frame.
The App
Like all blockchain applications, the Lago Frame companion app uses a handshake process that lets you login and connect directly with your crypto wallet. From there, you can view, manage and display all the NFT’s in your wallet.
We designed the app to be the hub where you manage your entire collection of NFTs with ease. The app was developed in Flutter so it could be used on both Android and iOS devices.
The Lago Frame app gives you complete control of how your art is displayed. You can add borders, set it to auto-play, make a 3D object continuously spin, adjust brightness or have the frame cycle through different pieces. These features ensure users can display their NFT in the best way possible — just as the artist intended.
A new social network for NFTs
Being able to control the frame is nice, but we wanted to take the app a step further. The app contains an entire NFT ecosystem. One where people go not just to manage their art pieces and frame, but to connect with the community at large.
We designed and developed the Lago Frame app to give curators and artists a platform to display and share their NFTs. When you create a profile in the app, you have the option to let other users view your profile — and even display your art.
This allows users to follow their favorite curators and artists, and gives them a platform to discover new NFTs that they can then purchase.
Curators and artists can also allow other users to display curated portfolios of NFTs on their own frame. This means users can display NFTs even if they haven’t yet purchased any on their own. And curators and NFT enthusiast are able to track where there art is being displayed.
