Google, Google, Google I/O
Google threw its annual Google I/O developer conference in San Francisco this week and it was ambitious. Google wants to be in your TV, your car, and on your wrist. There was a whole slew of updates, apps, and introductions including a preview of Android's L release with a brand new design. Check out the roundup at Wired.
Freemium Apps
A report was released this week detailing the rapid growth of Google's Play Store. One of the most interesting statistics from the report is the 98% of worldwide Google Play revenue that is generated by freemium apps. This signals that payment within the app is more palatable than paying for the app upfront. via The Verge
Uber's Latest Gimmick
Uber's latest gimmick is here just in time for San Francisco Pride. This Saturday, couples in SF can request a wedding via the Uber app. Couples will recieve a notary provided by Uber and then a ceremony complete with a violinist, floral arrangements, candles, dessert, champagne and even an Uber gift bag.
